LA-based Valley Taylor have returned with their latest album Lifetime of Unending Joy. Releasing music since 2018, this is certainly not their first rodeo. Lifetime of Unending Joy comes rather impressively as their fourth album in the last two years, following HIGUERA: DEMO TAPE (2022), Woke Up In The Living Room, Sun Went Down (2023), and most recently Caution Street ii (2024).

Tracklist
1. If I Tried
2. I Don't Wanna Die
3. Zombie
4. See Me The Way I Do
5. In My Head I'm So Funny
6. Poltergeist
7. Drag Me Off A Cliff
8. Ran Out Of Stars
9. Lover In A House Of Cards
10. Heavenly Delusions
The album’s title seems almost satirical in contrast to the content itself, as most of the tracks have an underlying existential feeling, exploring themes relating to the self and the way we view ourselves in relation to the way we are viewed by others, which can be heard in “See Me The Way I Do” and “In My Head I’m So Funny”; and lovesick laced tracks like “Drag Me Off A Cliff” and the final track “Heavenly Delusions”.
The tracks have a hazy lo-fi sheen which complements the melancholic feeling throughout the album, with heartfelt, raw vocals and dynamic instrumentation, we are fully immersed in this swirling feeling of existentialism. The familiar indie hum of the songs bring them together making the album fit cohesively together.
Alongside the album, he has released a series of charming hand drawn illustrations and short animations, in the same style as the album cover, to go along with his music that are easy to find on his social platforms which I think are also worth taking a look at!
