This song is my first introduction to Pixie McCann and after delving a bit deeper, it's clear that she is incredibly talented not only as a musician but also as a writer and producer, as most of her music is entirely written and produced by herself at home.
I would describe “Moth” as an Ethereal Indie Pop track. The melody is focused around the main hook which is made up of layers of distorted chopped vocals with the lyrics: “he wanted me/ and everything changed” offset by an overlaid vocal singing “help me out this hole” which slowly starts to take over the track towards the end. In amongst these soft whispers, there is a third, more solid, vocal element which brings more of an indie undertone to the song.
The whole song feels like an inner monologue with different thoughts bouncing off each other. Echoes and distorted whispers give the song an enchanting and ethereal vibe, I would definitely recommend giving it a listen!
