Support Acts
Grace Elizabeth Harvey
First to the stage was Grace Elizabeth Harvey, and although I didn’t see much of her performance, from what I did see she seems very sweet. Armed with an acoustic guitar and a mandolin player she serenaded the audience with a selection ballads, my favourite of which being one she had written about a conversation with a bird.
Maria Olsen
While we were all waiting in anticipation of Blue Jean herself, we were introduced to the beautiful Maria Olsen. Maria’s music is very much in the same vein as Blue Jean, making her one of the best choices of support act I am yet to see for a gig. She played a variety of moody love songs of which I’d recommend ‘No Fun’.
Blue Jean
After seeing Blue Jean a few months ago as a support act, I simply couldn’t miss her as the headliner. From the moment she took the stage, she commanded the room with an unmatched confidence and immediately set the tone. Her music has this dark ambient quality that lies somewhere in the realm of psychedelic inspired gothic rock and moody ethereal wave that is reminiscent of 70s/ 80s gothic bands like ‘Bauhaus’, ‘Siouxsie and the Banshees’, and ‘Heavenly Bodies’. She played some Blue Jean classics, and even surprised us with a new tune!
Check out her music! Thanks for reading :)
