RAM was released in 1971 and is the only album that was created by husband and wife Paul and Linda McCartney.

 

It’s impossible to fit RAM into a singular genre, it lies somewhere in the middle of rock, folk, and psychedelic rock, it is even argued to be the first true ‘indie rock’ album.

The album is pretty fun and upbeat, with  Paul’s classic whimsy sprinkled throughout the tracks. Although it has been rumored that several of the songs contain little jabs to his former Beatles bandmates.

The most notable track on the album is ‘Uncle Albert/ Admiral Halsey’, which is essentially a mash-up of the best of Paul McCartney’s unheard tracks, skillfully sewn together into a nonsensical musical rollercoaster.
