Yesterday I was feeling in a little bit of a jazzy mood so despite the torrential rain, I put a red ribbon in my hair and headed down to Petit Café du Coin just on the corner of Berry Street.
This was my first visit to Petit Café du Coin, although I've been trying to find an excuse to pop in for a while now. It is a wine and cocktail bar with an impressive cocktail menu (they make a great old fashioned :)) and a variety of wines available. It has a cozy and intimate atmosphere that fits the vibe well. It was dimly lit with a candle on every table, exposed filament light bulbs overhead and dark wood furniture. The windows were lined with plants and fairy lights which made it feel like a secret little hideaway. I was there by myself, which in most places tends to leave me feeling on display, but here I felt as though I could hide and sketch in peace while I listened to the music.
Every week from Wednesday to Sunday, Petit Café host live jazz performers; yesterday's choice was duo Sara and Cia. Sara is an incredibly confident singer with a beautiful voice and she was backed by Cia on the keyboard who played very elegantly. They performed a well curated collection of classics including Cry Me A River, and You Go To My Head.
I 100% will be returning to see some of the other performers here, and would highly recommend it!
Thanks for reading :)
